PROTECT CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH
Let's create a safe environment in schools
No one should have to deal with mental health problems alone – especially children and young people.
Schools are places of learning, but they should also be places where pupils' mental health – the basis for their well-being and success – is nurtured.
The "Schools of Support" program, implemented by UNICEF in cooperation with partners, aims to create a safe and supportive environment in schools. Teachers receive training to conduct dedicated workshops to support students' mental health. Children and young people develop skills to become more resilient to stress and cope better with feelings, anxieties and challenges of growing up.
Your support can help bring this important program to even more pupils in Croatia!
Your donation will be used to help children and young people by:
- developing pupils' skills to cope with stress and strengthen their resilience to crises and challenges
- educating teachers, principals and other professionals to support the mental health of their pupils
- empowering teachers to work with students who need help in mastering learning material and raising self-confidence and motivation to learn
- organizing a network of schools participating in the program to share good practices and improve the well-being and mental health of students.
Thanks for your support!
In addition to 72 schools, 15,000 students and 2,000 teachers who are already part of the "Schools of Support" program, UNICEF's new activities will support the mental health of an additional 6,000 students and further expand the program to primary and secondary schools across Croatia.
“The workshops are very well structured and conceived. I see a much better connection between students.”
